Law & Order Girlfriends

Two drama students are in magazines looking for help analyzing a particularly problematic verse. One, Mike, starts reading a book while his friend looks for another. Because the books were misordered, the friend leaves the island to look for the book. He finds a body. The detectives arrive at the Grill, an expensive bar. The bartender recognizes Bridget and says that she meets a lot of friends there – she is a prostitute. Schiff later tells McCoy that allegations of corporate bribery are usually used against the mob, not against people like Barry. McCoy says it`s a valid fee. When asked where Shelly is, Kincaid replies that there is an Interpol alert and that the Swiss police are looking for her. McCoy adds that they prevent Barry from financing his escape. Written by Ed Zuckerman, Suzanne O Malley & Jeremy R Littman The campus police chief discusses the rapist`s current attack pattern.

He sneaks on women, strangles them and rapes them. Curtis comments that Kaylin had marks on his neck, so this fits the pattern. The boss says he has limited his patrols only to the area near the dormitories — he only has about thirty people and can`t cover the entire campus. He sends her to an anti-rape group that patrols himself. When the Taggerts leave, McCoy, Kincaid and the detectives arrest him. Taggert asks if he will be charged with murder, and McCoy replies that he is not because he does not think Barry did. On the contrary, it brings back the accusation of corporate corruption. Richland fears the cops will tell their parents. Van Buren criticizes her as a prostitute.

Donna says she, Bridget, Shelly and Lisa were all involved in the group. Bridget started – she wanted the money. In a hotel room, Curtis says goodnight to his children. The escort knocks on the door. Curtis opens it to find Donna. Shelly is later acquitted. Shelly is delighted, as is Barry, who gently clenches his fist. The Kaylins are upset. When the Taggerts kiss, McCoy rushes in. Miniver says he was going to a bar and just didn`t want to tell the patrols what he was doing.

He says he was in the bar until 10 a.m. Curtis asks why the group calls him a rapist, and Miniver says he had sex with a drunk woman. Van Buren asks him to find the officer who arrested him. You need to find Bridget`s clients. Barry is taken away. Shelly smiles as he is taken away. Jerold Spector testifies that he is a forensic accountant and that he has gone through Barry`s books. He found many questionable tax deductions, including payments to Shelly for services not specified as “consultants.” He noted that these payments correlated with “business entertainment” payments, which were $400 payments from male shoe buyers. Payments were listed in the files as “guided nature walks.” A week later, Barry and Ralston meet McCoy.

Barry complains that he has to fire people because Spector doesn`t approve of day-to-day expenses. McCoy says Barry only has to prove for every expense that the money isn`t going to Shelly. Of course, Barry can`t prove that she`s not hiding in foreign shoe factories, for example. McCoy will not drop the charges, despite protests of Barry`s innocence. Kincaid points out that Swiss police have just found Shelly`s last hotel, and McCoy adds that Shelly is probably short of money now. He offers to drop the charges if Shelly returns. Ralston asks if McCoy told the grand jury, and McCoy just laughs and says Barry can use his phone. He does. The girls say that Bridget was more interested in boys with a good sense of humor and that she did not have a boyfriend.

Curtis asks about diamond caps, and Shelly says it`s impossible because Bridget had little money. Donna ended up saying that Bridget did aerobics three afternoons a week. When the detectives leave, they discover that Bridget would not have been able to work at the campus store after school because she had her aerobics classes. They decide to visit Bridget`s dormitory. Kincaid points out that Shelly`s story of hearing the confession is hearsay anyway and is unconscionable. Shore says an admission of guilt is permitted, but Kincaid says a confession to an accused is only admissible if Barry is dead, out of jurisdiction, or invokes his right not to testify. Since Barry was in the courtroom, the first two cases do not apply. Shore doesn`t know if Barry will testify, so she wants to talk to him. McCoy denies that he is a prosecution witness, but now he is a potential defense witness, so Shore wants to talk to him without McCoy listening. Justice Barry sided with McCoy; He can be there when Shore talks to Barry. In a conference room, McCoy tells Barry that he`ll just stop him because he can`t stop Shelly. Barry`s lawyer, Harry Ralston, says Barry is not responsible for Shelly`s crimes (and Kincaid notes with amusement that Ralston didn`t bother to say “alleged crimes”).

McCoy and Barry argue over whether Shelly killed anyone, with Barry saying it`s ridiculous. Kincaid finds records of a transfer to Zurich and a purchase of a plane ticket to that area, suggesting that Shelly is in that area. Jonathan Freeman complains about the way events unfolded. He fears that his wife will come to him and talk to the police. He holds a toy plane in his hand and says he hasn`t seen Bridget in a long time. Curtis confirms that Shelly`s notebook confirms this. Freeman says Bridget told him she was going to quit the prostitution business. His alibi is that he was at his in-laws` house when Bridget was killed. Shelly pleaded not guilty to her indictment. Judge Andrew Barsky detained her because she fled the country to avoid trial.

Later, in Schiff`s office, the lawyers wonder why the girls decided to prostitute themselves. McCoy and Schiff joke that girls give up their morals for money, but Kincaid says some people think women should be free to have sex with anyone, and for whatever reason. Schiff thinks it`s silly. McCoy says they are getting out of the way; Shelly, he says, sold not only her own body, but that of other women as well. Schiff believes the jury will hate her. McCoy adds that they are aware of the argument between Bridget and Shelly, and that they have Bridget`s cameo found in Shelly`s room. Schiff says they still don`t have a good motive unless Shelly killed Bridget for the cameo, but McCoy doesn`t think that`s important; The pimps are found guilty of constantly killing street walkers. Kincaid says the girls thought they were different from ordinary prostitutes; In fact, Shelly still maintains her innocence in the murder. McCoy believes Shelly had to tell her father what had happened so he could kidnap her in Switzerland. Kincaid complains that the cops asked for an unjustified arrest warrant. They want to search their father`s apartment for a list of clients, but they have no probable reason – they are investigating a murder, and they don`t believe there will be evidence of the murder itself.

Kincaid, however, says they can only get an arrest warrant for the prostitution case. This satisfies the cops. Shelly says Barry told her he killed Kaylin. He, Shelly says, had an affair with her. Shelly is sent by Judge Barry, after which McCoy says the application is not credible, and Shore says it`s up to the jury to decide. She adds that the confession is evidence, as if the cameo had been found in her apartment. Curtis finds fancy clothes in Shelly`s room. Then Briscoe finds a box with a notebook and a green cameo. Notepad contains the list of customers. Van Buren is surprised to hear the new information about Bridget. Detectives show her an arrest report – Bridget was arrested a month ago, but she used a fake ID.

She was not in the system, so she was allowed to pay her fine and leave. Bridget Kaylin`s apartment at 151 West 70th Street Friday, 24. February`s Detective Scapelli tells police that he usually checks into a cheaper hotel than the Barrington. He plays a poor salesman from Omaha. He finds an ad for escorts, calls the number, sends someone and stops him when they agree to have sex for money. He remembers Bridget. The examiner observes a thin mark around Kaylin`s neck and says she may have been strangled or may have hit her head on a lectern near her body. The campus police officer says no, when asked if anyone saw anything.

Curtis and Briscoe are taken to the body by a member of the campus police, who says the deceased is Bridget Kaylin, an elderly person. Anyone can go to the library – all students, alumni, and anyone in the community who pays a small fee for a pass. He asks what else his department can do, and Curtis tells him to stay in the area. The I says the body is still warm; The time of death was about an hour earlier. The officer comments that there have been two rapes in the past six weeks. Shelly`s lawyer, Ms. Shore, disagreed and the appeal was supported by Justice Margaret Barry. McCoy asks if Barry is sure Shelly didn`t want to flee the country to avoid being prosecuted for murder. He says no and he wouldn`t do it. McCoy says Barry once sent Shelly to Europe to hide her from the police, spent money protecting her while she was away, and risked her business, so it`s strange that he doesn`t lie for her. You talk to Fred Pappas, a pizza maker who talks more openly about his dates with Bridget.
