The reason this report is called the “2020” report is that our 2020 Law School Ranking Report and 2020 Law School Profiles are of considerable interest to potential law school applicants who wish to enroll in courses starting in fall 2020. At the time of publication of this report in spring 2019, these employment statistics reflected the most recent data available. Law students can also apply their pedagogical knowledge through the Clinical Day School program, where students participate in third-year legal work. Cal Western is among the top 3 law schools in the United States for the required experiential learning credits. The school encourages hands-on experience to develop essential skills such as confidence and problem-solving, which are essential to the practice of law. In addition, alumni are employed in law firms, the U.S. Court of Appeals, and U.S. attorneys` offices. This statistic is not surprising, as more and more candidates hope to be part of the university and find themselves in their dream job. Less prestigious in all national law school rankings are Thomas Jefferson`s San Diego Law School and California Western. These schools will not make a list of the top law schools or even the top 100 law schools in law school rankings. USD receives about 3,000 applications and accepts about 1/3 of these students. USD`s student body was ranked academically in the top 50 law schools, ranking 49th. Founded as a Catholic university, professors in monk`s uniforms still roam the picturesque campus. The law school is relatively secular and academically on the rise, with some of its specialties being among the top 25 law schools in the national ranking of law schools.
Among California law schools, USD is one of the top ten law schools and very close to being one of the top 50 law schools in the country. Cal Western`s poor performance in law school scores translates into low eligibility criteria, which allow 65% of applicants.
